[PhaseSpace Motion Capture About Us]

There has been a recent surge in computer animation and digital media production in many educational institutions, especially community colleges. Our motion capture systems empower schools to offer state-of-the-art programs in this area, allowing them to provide students with the skills and experience sought after by the entertainment and animation industry as the industry itself goes through a transition of using motion capture equipment to render realistic animation and special effects.

The PhaseSpace motion capture system installed at Central Piedmont Community College in North Carolina is highly utilized in their Simulation and Game Development program. They have now become a regional training center for the application of advanced techniques and expertise in the digital effects and animation field. Major contributions to their achievements were their ability to capture and render realistic animated sequences and their ability to train students with state-of-the-art equipment widely used in the industry.

The Motion Capture Studio lab at Shawnee State University is “powered” by a 32-camera PhaseSpace motion capture system. Shawnee State is recognized as a Center of Excellence in Immersive Technology, and their Motion Capture Studio is a central part of their Digital Simulation and Gaming program as well as their Game and Simulation Arts program. The addition of the Motion Capture Studio has resulted in Shawnee State receiving an Honorable Mention in Princeton Review's Top Gaming Schools list.
